Laura Pausini and Paola Cortellesi Shine in New Variety Show

Yesterday, the multi-talented, Grammy-winning Pausini showed off her comic side (OMG, LOVE IT!!!) on RAI Uno in the first part of her three-night variety show alongside actress/comedienne Cortellesi.
During the highly anticipated premiere of Laura & Paola--a concept which combines personal stories and the best of cinema, music, and television--we saw hilarious skits and wonderful musical performances, complete with live orchestra, from the two women and their special guests, which included Marco Mengoni, Noemi, and Andrea Bocelli.
In a throwback to the musical past, two extremely entertaining and unforgettable highlights of the show were the ABBA skit, with movie star Raul Bova, as well as a performance by Laura, Paola, and Noemi as The Supremes.
While the show took a more serious turn with Paola's monologue on bullying, intermingled with Marco Mengoni's performance of his powerful anthem "Guerriero," the night provided lighthearted fun and much-needed laughter in this period of political strife we are currently finding ourselves in.
Laura also performed her latest single "Innamorata," one of MNGBlog's favorites from her new album Simili.
