Australia's Phebe Starr Releases EP Chronicles
/Ethereal Australian songstress Phebe Starr just dropped her brand new autobiographical EP titled Chronicles.
From the driving beat of her critically acclaimed single "Feel My Love," which has garnered 2.5 million + streams, to the dreamy electro-pop bliss of "Two Hearts," Chronicles is a vibrant collection of soul-healing songs that speaks to personal growth and evolution.
This week Starr released the highly personal official video for "They Keep Telling Me," a song about continuing to chase one's dreams despite any adversity—or haters—one may face. "During the writing of this EP I was reflecting on where I grew up 'Dorrigo' Australia and how unique my childhood was," she explained. "When it came to making this video I wanted to capture the raw feelings and emotions of my life experiences but I couldn't seem to work out how to do that in a conventional way that was authentic. It wasn't until I went home for Christmas that I stumbled across a box of home movies. I started to play around and edit them for fun. I was moved by the rawness of them. Home movies are so transparent. The next thing I knew I was making a series of videos for my EP. I guess this is something I always find myself doing, making art from whatever is around."
Chronicles follows Starr's 2014 debut EP Zero and is available now to stream and download on digital music platforms.
