Today Musical Notes Global has the exclusive premiere of the group’s new single “I Just Wanna Love You,” which will be available everywhere tomorrow, May 1. The song is truly irresistible and boasts soulful melodies and relatable lyrics that recall the band’s deep southern roots while speaking to the array of emotions we can experience when falling head over heels for someone.

Mason recently sat down with Musical Notes Global to share more details about the band’s new single, the origin of its name, and much more. Get to know Brother Maven below!

For those of you who don’t know us, we are Brother Maven.

This is why we call ourselves Brother Maven: “Brother” cause we are guys that are kindred spirits and share similar music interest and attitudes on life. “Maven” cause it means an expert who understands the skill or subject at hand. Which is how we view our musicianship and artistry. Hence, Brother Maven.

Here’s the scoop on our new single “I Just Wanna Love You”: Written by Brother Maven and co-writer Hal O’Dell. A classic rock&roll love song that everyone can relate to.

To me this song represents two people that are madly in love and passion about their life together. As in the words of Sir Paul McCartney, “some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs, what’s wrong with that?” Love songs are relatable and even better when written from a places of experience.

We hope listeners can relate and are impressed by the musicianship that every member of the band stylistically brought to this song to make it what it is.

The artists that have most influenced me are the likes of Ottis Redding, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, & Bob Seger to name a few. These soulful musical icons that put passion into their songs both lyrically and musically.

I love Music City cause
of the melting pot of musicians and artists. There’s a great support system among the artists. I grew up in the south which is intertwined musically with Country and Southern Rock and the Nashville scene has the best of both worlds.

Music is a way to freely express emotion to all walks of life and touch the heart and soul of those who listen.

If I wasn’t making music I’d be teaching or building something.

Our pre-gig rituals: We all have our warmups to mentally prepare but it’s mostly discussions on music, sports, religion, and pop culture. We enjoy debating the hot topics of the day.

You wouldn’t know this about me, but: I put ketchup on macaroni and cheese.

You can find these songs on our playlist right now: “Testify” and “I Just Wanna Love You.”

For the rest of 2024, we’re looking forward to writing, recording, releasing new music, and performing in new markets across the country.
