The indie rock scene thrives on bands that can seamlessly translate their studio sound into a gripping live experience, and The Hails proved they are more than up to the task during their co-headlining show with Never Ending Fall at Brooklyn Made on February 22.

With the opening notes of “Sippin’ on the Daylight,” Robbie Kingsley’s vocals cut through the room with clarity and control, effortlessly carrying the band’s signature blend of indie, rock, and R&B influences. While their recorded tracks exude a cool, polished charm, their live performance brought a new depth—guitars shimmered with vibrant bass lines, and Zach Levy’s drums pushed the energy forward to keep the crowd grooving through the night.

Highlights of the set included “Exonerate” and “Fiona,” where the band leaned into their dynamic interplay, balancing smooth melodies with driving rhythms. The chemistry among the members was palpable, each instrumental layer reinforcing the band’s tight and evolving sound. The atmosphere at Brooklyn Made felt intimate yet electric, the kind of setting where every note lingers just a little longer in the air.

As the final song rang out, it was clear that The Hails are not just a band to listen to—they’re a band to experience. Their music may pull you in through headphones, but it’s on stage where they truly come alive.

The Hails are fresh off the release of their new single “Different Guy,” their first single since the release of their 2023 debut album “What’s Your Motive.” Stream “Different Guy” below.
