Sam Fischer Releases Soulful Debut EP Not A Hobby
/Today Australian-born LA-based singer and songwriter Sam Fischer releases his debut EP Not A Hobby.
The four-track collection is a soulful, easy-to-listen-to, R&B-infused dream enhanced with powerful, thought-provoking lyrics that speak to themes and feelings that everyone can relate to.
Not A Hobby includes the post-breakup single "Same Friends" as well as the jazzy Jamie Hartman-produced track "Smoke" and the wonderfully gospel-tinged, hip-hop flavored "Getting Older."
"Getting Older is my favorite song off the EP and is as honest as I get," Fischer said. "Simply put, the lyrics are just a retelling of the day we (myself, Asia Whiteacre, Morgan Taylor Reid & Johan Fransson) wrote the song, including the bird story. It's a stream of consciousness to put to music about the uncertainties of the future and what we can't control, yet worry about constantly."
Fischer, who began songwriting at just 12 years old, is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has written songs for a number of artists including DJ Mustard, Clean Bandit, Sabrina Claudio, and Jennifer Hudson.
Not A Hobby is now available to stream and download on digital music platforms.
