BETS Shares 5 Songs That Inspired Her New Single "Out of View"

Bi-coastal indie pop singer BETS (aka Betsy Hershey) made her debut in 2015 with her self-released album Days Hours Nights and has been hypnotizing listeners ever since.

The Los Angeles-born beauty has garnered attention from PopMatters, Entertainment Weekly, and more, and she is now preparing to release her sophomore album Future Color, which is set to drop October 26. The album features previously released singles “Another Night” and “Da Da Da,” as well as her dark new industrial-pop track “Out of View.”

BETS curated a playlist of songs that inspired “Out of View” just for Musical Notes Global. Listen below!

“Dreams Tonite” - Alvvays

These lyrics paint such a visual picture for me, more than most, I love when that happens.

“Boyish” - Japanese Breakfast

I feel like this song transports me to a different time and place away from where I really am. It feels authentic and I strongly relate to the colors of the music.

“Lovesong” - The Cure

Simple, brilliant songs are the toughest to create and this is one of them. So very honest and beautiful.

“True Affection” - The Blow

I find this song fun to drive around to but it's also kind of sad at the same time, which can be the best combination during certain moments.

“Over Everything” - Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile

It's just so good, it feels like hanging out with friends and I AM over everything!
