Feel the Vibes with Common Kings' Critically-Acclaimed EP One Day
/California’s Common Kings are a glorious amalgam of all things good in the world.
With roots in the South Pacific, the Grammy-nominated band, lead by JR King, has become known for their delicious feel good vibes, rocking beats, and fun-loving attitude.
Pop, reggae, rock, and island influences collide once again on their new EP One Day, a seven-track collection that oozes ambition and hope while delivering astute commentary on topics like the current state of the world in a laid back, receivable way. “One Day is meant to be fun and crazy...like us!!” Common Kings say. “When you’re in a writing session with Kat Dahlia, purchasing 99cent street tacos with the quarters you found under the couch, while staring at a lottery ticket promising to share your earnings with everybody in the room, you definitely get inspired to write about the sh** you wish you had! We hope our fans enjoy it as much as we do and we look forward to the rocking out with them at the next show.”
The EP, which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart this summer, includes stellar collaborations with reggae giants Stephen Marley, ¡Mayday!, Matisyahu, and Cuban-American singer, songwriter, and rapper Kat Dahlia, who features on the glistening closing track “Champion".”
Fun Fact: While the band loves to test new music live, the EP’s title track was the first song they performed in front of an audience without releasing it first.
Common Kings will support Bruno Mars on his Hawaii tour dates this month. Stream One Day below.
