Twin Brother Duo Vice Menta Drops Anticipated New Single "Granada"
/Vice Menta is the next Latin duo that you need to keep an eye on.
Twin brothers Celo and Genio were born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and have since moved to the U.S. to pursue their musical dreams.
If there’s one word to describe Vice Menta’s sound it’s sabroso. Breaking away from the style popularized by many Mexican artists, the duo draws inspiration from R&B and Atlanta hip-hop and, using these elements as a base, they mix in Spanish lyrics and slang and phrases of Northern Mexico to create a truly unique, unmatched sonido that allows them to stand out brilliantly in today’s Latin urban scene.
Today Vice Menta shares their anticipated new single “Granada,” the follow up to their successful 2017 debut EP La Wave, which has surpassed more than 5 million digital streams and has garnered the duo an average of 20+ million listeners a month.
“We wrote and produced Granada almost a year ago knowing that it was going to be one of those songs that would help tell our story and begin to define who we are as artists,” they said. “Coming from Monterrey, MX, this style and genre of music we’re doing is out of the box and many didn’t believe we could do it. We wanted to show the world that two Mexican kids could add new dimension to hip-hop while still staying true to our roots.”
The official music video for “Granada” was filmed in Mexico under the direction of Mlkman, who is known for working closely with Colombian superstar J Balvin, and Jesse Baez. Watch below.
