‘70s and ‘80s synth-pop is making a comeback and it is certainly a trend that Musical Notes Global can get behind.

Mainstream artists like The 1975, Portugal the Man, Jonas Brothers, and others have crafted their sound to mirror that of the pop greats: Gary Numan, Tears for Fears, Eurythmics, Duran Duran, INXS, and many more.

Newcomers on the scene have also channeled synth, catchy beats, and sequencers to create their own spin on the pop sub genre, and a prime example of a band in this ever-growing group of artists is MAYVE.

Straight outta New York, the band’s work is a fusion of late ‘70s early ‘80s pop with a modern twist. The band has also accumulated over 130,000 streams on Spotify since their debut in 2015.

“Slide” is MAYVE’s latest single. The low-key track, which was released on July 26, is equipped with synth and electronic beats, sending listeners into a moody dream sequence also thanks to lyrics and a sound that speak real emotions in confusing times.

Learn more about the story behind “Slide” below, and look out for the official music video on August 7.
