Marta Palombo Takes Listeners on a Journey Through Love in New EP "HIM, VOL. 1"

Fusing together the legendary storytelling of Italy and Nashville, Florence-born singer and songwriter Marta Palombo approaches music with an open heart, and she exposes her soul a little more with every song she shares.

Nationally recognized in 2016 as Poetry Out Loud’s Georgia State Champion and National Runner-Up, Marta then transitioned to writing music after moving to Music City and began releasing covers of English and Italian songs in addition to original compositions. It took no time for her to win over an affectionate fan base, which continues to devour her soaring thoughts and feelings through heartfelt songs such as “Sparrows” and “Bitter End.”

On February 29, the folk-pop songbird released her new EP HIM: VOL. 1, an incredibly relatable collection of five songs that speaks to all of the complicated feelings that come with romance, relationships, and unrequited love. “I created this EP to flow like a book,” Palombo explains. “Each song is a different stage I personally felt while falling in love, and each song was written over the course of five years while I grew into that love.”

Overflowing with beautiful arrangements and poignant lyrics, HIM: VOL. 1 also features the title single and opening track, which many of Palombo’s listeners are sure to find hitting them right in the core of their emotions. "You know when you have a crush, and it steadily takes over? That's what I was feeling at the time," Marta reveals. "I’ve been asked out a few times throughout the years, and I’m sure I could have been more graceful and eloquent about saying no, but the truth was...I really just wanted him. And when you want somebody else, another person asking you out can get pretty frustrating. Him is how that frustration came out - and I guess it gets a little passive aggressive."
