Francesca Michielin Will Represent Italy at ESC 2016

As the runner up of this year's Festival di Sanremo, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter has the opportunity to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest as a result of Stadio, Sanremo's winning group, declining the offer.

Although it has not yet been officially confirmed, it looks like Michielin will be singing her Sanremo 2016 entry "Nessun grado di separazione," a seemingly wise decision considering its official video has accumulated almost 7 million views in the weeks since its release. However, it is unclear as to whether or not she will perform the song in its original Italian version or a mixed version that will include English lyrics.
