To many, Bucky Covington was one of American Idol’s most charming contestants. With his country twang and gritty vocals, he made the show’s fifth season even more fun to watch.

Since then, Covington has hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with his self-titled debut album, became the best-selling debut artist of 2007, delivered three consecutive Top 10 singles to country radio, released an album dedicated to first responders, co-produced an independent project, and has made numerous television appearances.

The endearing country star recently released his newest single “Probably Won’t”, and it speaks right to the place where the sweetest memories reside. “‘Probably Won’t’ is one of those songs that just fell right on the paper,” Covington explained to Musical Notes Global. “At one point in our lives we go through a breakup or lose someone that you just don’t have in your life anymore. There’s something in your home that triggers that memory and you know that you need to put that memory away – take that picture off the wall, clean that bedroom out or whatever it may be. But, you also know in the back of your mind that you probably won’t.”

I think ‘Probably Won’t’ is a pretty relatable song to most people,” he continued. “I hope listening to the lyrics helps them move on or to open the next door in their lives. As long as they like my music and it means something special to them, I’m happy!”

The single, which Covington wrote and produced himself, has quickly become a fan favorite at his live shows, much to his excitement. “Oh man, it’s great!” he said. “I have a lot of supportive fans and I’m happy that they are loving the song as much as I do. ‘Probably Won’t’ just went to #28 on the Music Row charts. It’s an awesome feeling.”

The former American Idol contestant credits the show for launching his career and the success he’s experienced so far. “One big thing that Idol did, in terms of getting into the industry, is they put a name with a face with a sound – they got my foot in the door in country music,” he said. “Since then, I’ve had an album and 3 singles go to #1. I’m living the dream in Nashville and I’m still very proud of the show.”

As 2018 comes to an end, Covington is staying busy preparing some awesome new material and hitting the road. “I have a few new projects that I’m working on right now – some new music and a couple other things - and I’m touring a lot until the end of the year,” he said. “Just enjoying my life right now and excited about the future!”
