Bilingual hip-hop artist and human rights activist Olmeca educates, empowers, and inspires through his cognizant lyrics and widely appealing sound.

In short, Olmeca blurs boundaries and barriers of all kinds, from the lines that lie between musical genres to the walls that exist between cultures and languages. However, what really makes him stand out and above is his unique perspective of, and sensitivity to, the human experience and how he’s using his words to change the world.

Having grown up in the barrios of Los Angeles and Mexico, it was these experiences that heavily impacted the MC’s ability to not only seamlessly blend a variety of genres, but also allowed him to recognize the undeniable similarities that all humans share across race and culture.

Olmeca just released his latest single “DEFINE” off his upcoming album of the same name. Incorporating a rich variety of sounds, textures, and styles, from boombap to Afro-Caribbean rhythms to bomba, the deeply introspective five-part track covers cultural identity and politics and is thought-provoking for whoever listens, even for those who don’t speak Spanish. “DEFINE is not only a cognate word but, it ultimately depicts through music and lyrics who we are,” Olmeca explains. “I’m not about to allow Trump era to depict who we are as a people.  Instead, I created a song that does it for us.”

Recorded in Olmeca’s studio Alternative Future in Las Vegas and finished in Chicago with co-producer Alex Chavez of Dos Santos at JamDek Studio, “DEFINE” is the song everyone needs to hear as the country faces extraordinary turmoil.

Among other notable accomplishments, Olmeca has written music for FX’s Sons of Anarchy and The Mayans, HULU’s CHANCE and has collaborated with La Santa Cecilia, Chicano Batman, Ozomatli, and Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas.
